Hey all,

Last week I mentioned I’d be putting up some past weddings on the site over the coming weeks now that I’m a bit more settled in Singapore. The next wedding I’m putting up is Adam and Megan’s wedding from January 1st of this this year.

I love providing Phuket wedding photography. Unlike doing wedding photography in Samui where the location tends to be the same, Phuket is diverse with many different beaches and locations. Adam and Megan’s wedding was certainly different - in location and execution.

This was my first January 1st wedding and honestly I was a bit bummed. Not to shoot the wedding, but event photography was something I did a lot of in Bangkok and New Year’s Eve is a big photo opportunity. Since I’m pretty serious about my wedding photography I do not go out the night before a wedding. So it was rough going to bed at roughly 12:05 the night before. I basically did a countdown and headed up to the room. This ended up being a good thing (I was actually requested by some people to shoot at Santika should I be in Bangkok - so glad I was in Phuket covering this wedding).

Megan grew up in Bangladesh and chose to honor her time in the country by mixing in traditional Bangladeshi elements to the wedding. The dress, hand decoration, bangles, and more were all from Bangladesh

The wedding took place at a family friend’s house in the Kathu area of Phuket Island. They decorated the backyard with colorful fabrics and had an intimate ceremony near the pool. After the ceremony all the guests were treated to some of Megan’s favorite Bangladeshi snacks and drinks. Then we all headed over to Da Maurizio for the after wedding photo session and reception dinner.

Da Maurizio was a lovely venue overlooking the beach with a great sunset vantage point. The food was well prepared and beautiful to look at. Definitely worth a visit if visiting Patong, Phuket.

All in all a lovely wedding with just the right mix of relaxation, personal touches, and enjoyment by everyone in attendance.
