Clubbing in Bali
Hey all,
Got a chance to go around with DJ Ernie and fiance Bill on Tuesday of my Bali trip. Went to “Ground Zero” or the location of the Bali bombings from 2001. Saw the memorial, wreckage from one of the blasts, and one location that was rebuilt.
Pics after the jump. The Bali scene is pretty interesting. The clubs are really nicely built, with interesting architecture. The clubbers however are all “bros” (surf dudes from Australia who have been drinking since noon) and seem to prefer the more obvious hip-hop clubs.
The two clubs we swung by were Maccaroni and ViAiPi (VIP). Both have great locations that any club in Bangkok would kill for, great architecture and sound systems. I’d love to be at one of the clubs on a weekend or full night as they seemed like a great place to attend a party.
The picture below is of DJ Erny in ViAiPi with the Ground Zero monument visible from the open-air club behind her. The one below that is of Maccaroni.
