Hemisphere Home Furnishings

Hey all,

Here’s the real reason I went back to Bangkok this weekend - Hemisphere Home Furnishings.

I first met owner Jay through my friend Fasai (whose wedding I photographed last January) when they hired me to photograph the grand opening press launch of what was then a new Casa Pagoda Location. I liked the location and thought it’d be nice to shoot there someday.

Last Nov 08 Jay emailed me to do a quick shoot so they could put together an advertisement for Guru Magazine (weekly Friday insert in the Bangkok Post). Apparently they were re-branding and needed some pictures to represent that.

The new concept is interesting. They have a four-story shop house location. The first two floors are “dark” themed. Rich, deep color furniture in blacks, maroons, and other shaded hues. The top two floors are “light” side - creamy colors, golds, whites, and other energetic, space-increasing colors.

I shot the first two sets of pictures last November and did some detail shots of other items in the store. They were waiting on a new shipment of furniture so I didn’t complete the shoot at that time. On this return trip I finished the contract and snagged a few shots of the new furniture and more details of some of the new accessories. The store has some really nice stuff, particularly if you’re wanting some modern-inspired Asian pieces to complete a modern home. I believe they also offer consulting services if your home or office is in need of a renovation.
