Neale and Dani’s Koh Samet Wedding

couple052

Hey all,

Now that I finally have all of our shipments from Bangkok here in Singapore and we’re finally settled I can finally start getting up some of the wedding photographs I shot just before leaving Thailand.

The first to go up is this beautiful wedding.

Neale and Dani contacted me a good time before their wedding while visiting in Bangkok. We met up at Molly Malone’s and shared a pint and they told me a bit of their story - how they met and why they were getting married in Thailand.

The months flew by and soon it was time to head down to Samet for the big day. Apparently I missed a doozy of a rehearsal party the night before because everyone was just waking up around 3 when I arrived on the island :) I met the friends and family and chatted for a bit. That night everyone had a drink at the new bar near the Lima Coco then headed over to Jeps for some Kabobs and other foods. Everyone headed to bed early.

The preparations, wedding, and reception all went off without a hitch. The couple was treated to not only a beautiful sunset (every other night was rainy and cloudy), but also a full moon. Have yet to see a sunset AND a full moon at a wedding… couldn’t have planned a more beautiful day.

You can see more pics up on my site under Wedding Samples 6.

As an aside Koh Samed (or Koh Samet as it’s sometimes spelled) weddings are some of my favorites. It’s not as striking as Krabi or Phuket, but the island itself is a lot of fun. It’s only 3 hours from Bangkok, has a quiet side of the island with sunsets (perfect for weddings) and a more rowdy side complete with fire spinners and bucket drinks for the night before or after :) Check out the Ao Phrao Resort, Lima Coco, and Le Vimarn Cottages on the Ao Phrao beach side of the island for a great sunset wedding destination.
